Evolution Powersports is setting new standards for durability, reliability, and power out of a CVT drive belt. Regardless of where you ride, EVP Alpha Drive Belts reimagine what’s expected from a UTV performance belt.
Durability comes from a newly blended synthetic rubber with advanced cord technology, as well as belt face angles that are precision machined to extremely strict specs. The compound, cord materials and finish are the keys to Alpha Drive Belts’ strength and performance. In total, EVP tested six different compounds. Although all were superior to anything else on the market, the one we selected stood out among the rest.
We tested Alpha belts under a variety of conditions throughout the demanding testing and development phases. This included countless Mainline Dyno pulls on 600+ horsepower machines to simulate the absolute harshest conditions these belts would ever encounter. Additional testing was performed in the grueling BITD Vegas to Reno endurance race where EVP racers ran the entire race without failure. Not only did the Alpha Belt last up to TWO TIMES the life of OEM and other baseline competitors on the Mainline, but it also posted the lowest belt temperatures we’ve ever seen during a desert race.
We have short course racers that now go from the dyno to qualifying to race and do not change belts. Prior to Alpha, racers would typically require three belts – one for the dyno, one for practice/qualifying, and one for each race.
In addition to strength, the Alpha Belt consistently showed the highest horsepower runs vs OEM or any of the other compounds we tested. On average, it was 10-12 WHP more than any other belt. More engine power was being transmitted to the hubs and less was being wasted in slippage and heat – it was clear early on Alpha Belts were an absolute game changer for putting power to the driveline.
EVP DISCLAIMER: Alpha Belts will not cure clutching issues! Drag race setups with high boost/high rpm launches require careful attention. The additional belt grip requires different calibrations in both the primary and secondary. Typically, Alpha belts require less belt squeeze in both the primary and secondary than other belts.
